Only disadvantages: only open during the noon period from Monday to Friday... and you will probably cross the terrible Brussels Piétonnier (a terrible mess) to reach this cozy and beautiful place...
The food and service in Tarte Julie are both wonderful.
I've been here for several months since I met this lunch restaurant. It is a popular place and you can sit on the front (where it is a little noisy) or on the back (where it is a little quieter). Tarte Julie is especially known for her exquisite quinces (Gemüsekuchen). My favorites are the Corsica and the Toscana cakes. Delicious! You have a good red house wine and beer. After my two cakes, I'm always finished with a chocolate cake. It is the best I know: creamy on the inside and a little crispy on the outside... Mmmmh! And they're bigger than usual! Service is fast and friendly. Most employees are French, but they also speak Dutch when they notice you 're Flemish (or Dutch). One last thing: It's better to be on time because some of the cakes are sold out quickly...
Very nice people, wheelchair-friendly and delicious quiches.
I visit this place on a regular basis and it's consistently good. It's a great little place for a quick lunch and they have a nice little garden outside in the summer. The service is great and really friendly, the quiches are delicious (special shout out to the Brocolli-Comté and the Tartiflette), the soup-salad menu is a nice healthy option and the deserts are to die for. The chef is sometimes a little heavy handed on the salt though.
