The Big Fish - Broxtowe

Ordered from here for the first time, as it has a 4.6 review out of 5. We ordered a small Doner each, mine was naan bread, my partners was pitta bread. It said on the menu that salad and sauce come with meal but boxed separately. We also ordered two cans of drink. It came quickly. But smelled terrible. The kebab smelled like old cat food! We opened what we got. Firstly, no drinks came. Then the full smell of the kebab hit us. My partner retched. I did try a little piece and it tasted like old, yet undercooked meat. It went straight in the bin. No sauce or salad in the bag. Small chips were freshly cooked, but were completely plain. We added salt and vinegar and has a few mouthfuls each, but many were still hard. They went in the bin too. Do not recommend this place at all. We’re now enjoying some beans on toast for Saturday night dinner!!

They ran out of fish really early they offered me 2 large sausages and a potato fritter for the same price. I said yes but only ate 1 sausage as didnt like it chips mushy peas curry sauce were nice but didnt enjoy it as i wanted the fish.

I’ve got a Scottish accent as I am from Scotland Went to big fish this evening whilst I brought my Wife and kids to visit my mom which lives in Beeston Ordered food to takeaway paid for it was told to wait 5 to 10 minutes it seemed a little busy so I went outside and sat in the car I came back in to see if the food was ready and the guy Who I think was the owner or manager told me that I gave the girl fake money just a few minutes before and he said im sick of you lot from The caravans found out later when I got to my mum‘s he was referring to the travellers that were staying in a park nearby instead of speaking to me he was speaking to the whole of Beeston as the chippy was quite packed I felt completely embarrassed as he was giving other customers the money to check to see if it was real or not I was so embarrassed I even offered to pay by card and give him the change back when he came to and realise the money was real he told the lady to give me my food the food was already packed in Bags I asked if there’s salt and vinegar on the chips she open the box and squirted vinegar all over the battered fish not chips spoiled the fish I felt that embarrassed I just grab my food and walked off did not get an apology and will not be going back there again very nice to be in a diverse country and to be completely immortalised by somebody who can barely speak English I felt like a unwanted refugee

Absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. The chips were disgusting and had to be thrown away as they were cold and inedible. On top of that, the price was way too high at £3.00 for something that belonged in the trash.

Popped in for a fish chip takeaway on our way home and was very disappointed, the fish was ready straight away which was very surprising as its normally cooked fresh, it was very dry when eating which was very unusual as its normally hot and just breaks away so yea it tasted like it had been warmed up or kept warm for a while, Chips were nice.
