There are quite a few new members of staff and I think that will to make sure no one leaves unhappy has gone. After booking a week previous and entering today there was a sign saying cash only. Usually I have no cash, but today I did so no worries. My party all ate and had a very good meal and the service was good, that was until payment time, the only cash I had included a £50 note. It felt the staff were joyous in telling me they didn't except them. Maybe we should have been called before we came of the cash only and no 50's. Even so as it was your issue cash only was the only payment method and being a regular taking my money would have been the best choice for customer service, to be ridiculed by your staff members all around smirking was not enjoyable. I was not offered any Management review of the circumstance I was in, and to be told we don't take them because of counterfeits and your inability to be able to check them. Its the same method as 20's! Obviously I looked like a crook and the fact I ate there once every week and twice every other week I am unfamiliar to you. Luckily one of my friends we dined with had some extra cash to borrow me to pay, otherwise what? The staff didn't even notice we didn't make are booking for next week , why would we? or they were relieved to get rid of such a shabby customer. You all did! I am booking elsewhere. Very disappointed, this was a lovely place to come.
Visited here today with a group of friends . Starters all arrived very quickly and were lovely and hot . We then waited for over one hour for the mains to arrive which were all cold . We requested that the meals were warm . The chef was extremely rude storming through the restaurant huffing at our table making us feel very uncomfortable . Food was returned a few items at a time with only half the meal so when the second half arrived the first part again was cold . Steaks were reheated over salted and rubbery . Partial refunds were for 5 people reluctantly and no apology offered . Young rude immature female member of staff stood at the bar smirking in our direction . Management disappeared and didn’t come over to the table to offer support to her team . Party of 8 all extremely disappointed , upset and very hungry !
We were recommended to Brinsley lodge by our daughter and son in law who are regular visitors. We weren’t disappointed. Lovely welcome and staff attentive . We had the chefs special sharing nachos. Oh my word! Absolutely delicious. We had mix grill (paid an extra £1 for the burger) plus peppercorn sauce and the final dish admiral fish finger bloomer. Both came with homemade fires and onion rings plus a corn on the cob. The portions were very plentiful, delicious and reasonably priced. As per anywhere else the drinks are what bumps up the price. If you are local and are looking for a meal out we highly recommend. Thank you to our daughter and son in law for recommending. We’ll definitely be revisiting.
Our family went for a meal about 1pm new years eve the upstairs wasn't very busy just a few tables taken. We had to go and ask someone to take our order after waiting to long. When the food came it was delicious couldn't fault it. But then we waited and waited for someone to collect our plates to order desserts but gave up in the end and paid the bill. Couldn't understand it as there were plenty of staff on. Don't think we will hurry back.
Enjoy a Christmas feast with a 3-course meal for only £19.19. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was sublime. I can't wait to come back next year. Don't miss out on their amazing lunchtime steaks. A big thank you to the staff - we will definitely be returning!
