Emilia's - Brownsville

My 2nd time back I returned again but decided on breakfast. And it was quite exceptional, very good. I had the Nopal breakfast plate, and my sister had a Ham and gegg with cheese Taco. Pretty decent portion and was fresh. The flour tortilla didn't look reheated, although my plate came with corn tortillas. I might just say very good corn tortillas. Tho, as usual, very busy, our waitress was somewhat attentive and maybe even very overwhelmed for her. Idk I mean, I give props to waiter/waitresses, but it isn't an easy job in any restaurant. You just have to keep mire on your toes, and this job isn't for the faint. But yet have patients with them. Anywhere you go, not just here. But less if a huddle would be great and not look bad on the eye of the customer. 1st time was pretty good, but I think it really depends on the time you go because when it's rush hour, your food tends to be out fresh and hot vs. When you're not in a rush hour, food definitely tastes different as if it was sitting there. Anyways, I've been here before, and this time, it was good, but as far as my service was a bit slow, she didn't ck frequently to see if I need refill or other items. And had to flag her down about 3 times, she was very nice but knowing the fact you have a full house be more alert with your tables. (Waitresses huddle too much in front and get in talk mode and forget the tables) The enchiladas swisas I ordered were good yet a bit too Tangy but do-able it was good portion and not overly portioned with beans and rice it was ok. The milanesa was very good, not over battered and soft, not tough. Now the fideo Well, that was a bit too much, cominos. You can literally taste it and kill the taste of the fideo. You need to taste before serving yall it was a soup of spices rather than a fideo soup.

Good food. I had the chile relleno. It didn’t have the cheese and salsa other places put on it which allowed me to saver the taste. Their salsa was just the right kind of spicy. We also had a quesadilla Durango which was also good and had a lot of meat. service was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive. I might have been swayed by the free dessert The only thing I can complain about is the sewer smell when you come in. The smell only lingers by the door. Stronger smell in the restroom and the restroom is very clean so definitely something going on with the plumbing or a/c.

Delicious food for a great price! Plates comes with pasta soup and dessert. Original I thought I'd have leftovers but the lengua plate was so good I ate all of it. Now I have food come and want to take a nap...

Food is always good there, service could be better, only thing that bothers me is fly control, always flies their bugging you
