A little more expensive than others further into Cobble Hill or Carroll Gardens but that might be a location thing. Wait staff were attentive and quick. Decor was nice but a little too dark especially if it is sunny outside. A good option if you're in the area.
The food here is a bit overpriced for mediocre Thai food. The food does come quickly and staff is very nice. But I wasn't wowed by it nor do I feel like I need to come here again.
The food here is amazing!!! I usually order the lunch special while at work but today i just wanted a quick bite!! Their pork chops are everything but my go to is pad se ew with beef! The service is quick in person and even faster with deliver! The ambiance is warm and cozy! Next time i will stay longer!
I've been going to this place for years and it definitely is a neighborhood staple that is quite nice for a local Thai spot. In my opinion, it is the perfect place to meet up with a small group or for a one-on-one meal. In terms of service, they have always brought the food orders out quickly within minutes after I've placed my order. It's nice to sit on the sidewalk and have a meal when it's not congested and it's also nice to sit inside even though it is super dark inside. They have tons to select from on their menu, which includes seafood and more and they also have quite a few drink options. Their food is tasty and seasoned pretty well and the service is on point. I love coming here with family too!
I've been to Lantern Thai twice once on the day I moved into the neighborhood, and again today, the night before I move out. Both times were equally underwhelming. I had vegetable dumplings for an appetizer. They were very clearly store bought and microwaved, and tasted awful. The veggies inside were so bland, it was like eating a dough wrapped icicle. Definitely steer clear of these. For mains, I've tried both the pad thai and the pad see ew. The pad thai is fine, not bad, not particularly good. The pad see ew from today's dinner, however, was also disappointing. It tasted like pure oil, with a hint of salt, and maybe some noodles to be found under all of that. So unnecessarily heavy, and left a lot to be desired in terms of taste. Service is very quick, and apparently they have a loyal following for takeout. But if I had never moved to this part of Brooklyn, I never would have stopped in here for a meal...and I would have been totally okay with that.
