Kombit Bar Restaurant - Brooklyn

I wanted to surprise someone who has a passion for authentic Hawaiian cuisine by discovering the Lumbi fish that her mother used to prepare before she passed away. She absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic, and the drinks were strong and delicious.

My family and I dined here on the eve of Mother's Day. We made a reservation in advance, but had to wait about 10 minutes for our table to be set up when we arrived. Once seated, we waited over 30 minutes for water and more than an hour for our main dishes, even after finishing our appetizers and confirming all orders. The food was quite good, but they really need to hire more staff. The bartender was also taking orders and swapping tables, leaving the bar unattended during a busy Saturday night when the restaurant was packed. There were only three employees available, two of whom appeared to be the owners. The organization was lacking, as they even had to ask us at the end of the night what we had ordered, which was quite amusing! I wouldn’t recommend dining here on weekends, especially with a group of three or more.

After not having Haitian cuisine for a while, I was curious to see how it compared to other Caribbean cuisines. I enjoyed their classic dishes like escovitch fish, rice, and plucked chicken. I also appreciated the traditional Haitian dishes: akra (a taro root fritter) and goat tasso (marinated and fried). The atmosphere was warm and casual, and the drinks were fantastic, especially the mango margarita! Finally, the band provided pleasant background music that enhanced the overall dining experience.

I have absolutely loved eating the service beyond and beyond. great people great location.

I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the restaurant. They opened an hour later than advertised, but once we were served, both the service and the food were excellent! The drinks were quite strong, and even when I took half of my meal home for the next day, it still tasted fantastic.
