Edgar's Bakery - Brook Highland

I ordered a cake and picked it up from here. As I picked up I grabbed candles that was $10 which is completely fine. As I was walking out the door with cake and candle I asked if there’s a knife for cake cutter. They said they could sell me one. I bought a cake for $50 and candles for $10. Jesus they made me ring 3 times for 1 dollar and some cents for plastic cake cutter that broke cutting the cake. Regardless of knife breaking and cutting my wife’s hand, as soon as they charged me for the third time for that knife I was done from Edgar’s after over a decade of visiting here.

Counter service can be slow and a bit disorganized during busier times. Food quality is consistently great.

Stopped by for a slice of cake and picked up a gingerbread cookie.I'll start by saying it was the last day of business for the week, which I believe affected the product.The cookie was good, a tad stale around the legs and arms, and not incredibly gingerbready..still a good value for the size.The cake slice (German chocolate) was rich, moist layers, but overly sweet, could not finish more than a few bites.The staff were very friendly, helpful, and eager to ask any questions about the products...which is amazing based on the pretentiousness and overall snootiness of other customers.

The best place in town to get a birthday cake. Definitely our go-to. They have a really pleasant cafe also and a great outdoor patio, very centrally located in Homewood. Parking can be a little bit tough sometimes but worth
