Ok so Memory Lane is not at all what I expected based on the newspaper article and their website. The floor staff are clueless in bringing orders ordered from the scan code which you’d initially think would make their jobs easier. The floor staff can actually take your order direct but encourage you to do it yourself which only devalues the service. There is only one outstanding food item in the menu and they only offer house wines; not even Rosè!!! The owners/managers spent their time sitting, eating food, taking Instagram videos and offering shots to girls all instead of managing the floor staff ... after eating our over priced bar food, we paid $70 for a shisha that took 30 min to arrive! It was below your standard shisha... clearly they must reuse the tubes which is concerning. It’s clear the staff is not properly trained. I politely asked the same waitress 3 times to check on the shisha as we’d been waiting so long. She assured me she’d check and then walked right past me to serve drinks for other guests. Due to licensing, you’re not allowed alcoholic drinks in the Shisha area yet they still give alcoholic drinks; just in coffee cups. I’ve never paid so much for such low value food and service. Working in hospitality myself, it was a disappointing environment to be in and I wish I’d booked at Sage restaurant across the road. I would not recommend this venue.
