The meal I recently had at Tamarind was tasteless and overpriced. The portions were so small you needed a magnifying glass to see them. The halibut was dry and flavorless, and the sauce on the lobster was almost nonexistent. In the past, when I went to Tamarind for a meal. Tamarind has a really good ambiance but of no use if you are going with a kid. Were really disappointed that they did not let us dine in the restaurant and had to sit outside because we were there with a 6 yr old. Don’t agree with this policy. Felt we spent such a high price for nothing. Also the food is not that great, especially the Hara Bhara kabab is a waste of money.

We had 2 delicious meals here. The decor is reminiscent of upscale Indian restaurants! very different to the other Indian restaurants in NYC. They have a varied and diverse wine, cocktail and beer selection! They have a big menu! in between courses they serve little treats. my only complaint is that the food taste was catered more for locals and not authentically spiced.
