Matiz Latin Cuisine - Broad Channel

Very good food. But I feel like the appetizers were pretty small for the amount you pay for them. The drinks were great and waiters are friendly too.

I have been here twice. The food is delicious, tastes like your Latina grandmother made it. The carimañolas were mouth watering, we could eat those all day, especially with the dipping sauce provided. Not sure what sauce they use in the fish tacos, but it’s addictive. El pescado Veracruzano was full of flavor and fish fillet was perfectly cooked. They have various vegetarian options. The cocktails are incredible, I suggest La Jungla Prohibida, the Bramble and just about any of their cocktails on their menu. Can we just say the Latin music that plays while you’re eating or drinking makes you want to get up and dance. Wonderful place to get great Latin food and delicious cocktails, will try to come here OFTEN!

Tonight, I picked up my order and got a chicken mofongo and a cordon bleu. The flavors of their dishes are absolutely spectacular—truly a delight for the palate! I also want to extend my gratitude to the waiter who handed me my order; he was wonderful!

I've only tasted the paella, but it's excellent and brings back memories of my trip to Spain. It's a bit pricey at over $30, but it can easily feed two people, so it's not a bad deal. The portion of seafood is quite generous, so I would definitely recommend this dish, even at that price.

Matiz has been my favorite restaurant for years and is definitely the top choice in the neighborhood. The food and drinks are always outstanding, and the staff is remarkably attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend this place – it’s a true gem!
