I ordered a delivery on Valentine's Day through Caviar and waited over 80 minutes. When I contacted Caviar support, they informed me that my order wouldn’t be ready for another 120 minutes due to a significant delay from the restaurant. I then called Kissaki directly to confirm the situation, only to find out that they claimed they didn't have my order at all. I called Caviar again to get to the bottom of it, and their support team told me that Kissaki Omakase had actually confirmed my order just a minute after I placed it. As a result, I ended up not having dinner on Valentine’s Day, thanks to both Caviar and Kissaki Omakase.
Kissaki had long been on my bucket list, but I couldn’t visit before the pandemic hit. Fortunately, they have several locations throughout Manhattan, all offering takeout and delivery options. Originally, I planned to go to their Midtown East location, but since it was closed, I decided to try the takeout from their newest spot on the Upper West Side, which now features outdoor seating. I had seen pictures of Kissaki's beautifully packaged sushi, but it truly exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Premium Omakase Midi, which includes eight pieces of sushi and a roll. The fish was incredibly fresh and tasted just as amazing as it looked. To my delight, I discovered that the takeout omakase also included soup and edamame, which I hadn’t anticipated. Overall, this has been one of the best sushi takeout experiences I've had during quarantine, and I would definitely order from them again.
