Kalye - Broad Channel

I really wanted to like this place. The vibe is great and the service is absoutely fantastic. I am not sure if they had an off night but the lechon was overcooked and over salted, barely any flavor. The rice was undercooked as well. A good lechon is moist and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside if it's done right but this was a hot mess all around. The mango salad was okay but nothing noteworthy. I tend to favor a sweet mango and but let me at least taste the mango. Given the area and price point, I expected better.

Was staying for a trip in LES and saw this place. Was passing by for a quick snack. I loved the sisig puff appetizer it was delicious. Never have seen this it is a creative way of eating sisig other than usually eating it with rice! Authentic Filipino flavors. The owner was nice and friendly!

Kalye is now on the InKind app and I couldn’t be happier! It has been our go to spot for very tasty Filipino food. The beef tapa is excellent — highly recommend getting this as an introduction to Filipino cuisine. In terms of service, Rich was topnotch. All his tables were raving about how professional, kind and warm he is! Highly recommend.

We reserved for three people but they couldn’t seat us for 15 minutes. The hostess/server went the extra mile to make up for the inconvenience, giving us a free dessert. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food. Would recommend.
