Il Cafe Latte 1 - Broad Channel

USUALLY, I have a great experience. Not today. I called in my order because I'm driving. But the owner couldn't understand me. I get here and order: chai w/chocolate and a toasted croissant. She asks, AGAIN, if I had chai w/chocolate here. Then, insists that I take the croissant as is because it's fresh. But I want it toasted (YES, that's how I order it here). Nope! I'm out the door with a COLD croissant w/butter on the side. I hope the rest of the day is better.

This is a cute little spot for breakfast. I had the Korean BBQ lettuce wraps and I appreciated the meat portion. I prefer to have more glaze on the meat but it was moderately seasoned. I had a chai latte with almond milk. It was a bit bland. They may use a powder than a concentrate which would explain the taste. I loved the presentation! Service was super friendly and attentive.

“You can not use a laptop!” Even before I had a change to sit down at a table I was told this upfront. And they weren't even apologetic about it. It was very unwelcoming and rude. If you're looking for a place to sit down and do some work, look for somewhere else. They don't want you there with your laptop.

I ordered the basil pesto chicken panini with french fries and a hot chocolate. A weird combo but it was so delicious. I enjoyed every bite. The environment was quiet and clean. My food came out quickly and fresh. I highly recommend the basil pesto chicken panini.
