Hoja Santa - Broad Channel

Came here on a Saturday. Not your typical brunch place but you'll be surprised how good the food is. It's traditional Mexican fare prepared by a chef from Tulum (allegedly). Their Bellinis are quite good thanks to the peach liqueur they use instead of juice. Service was excellent.

It was a true pleasure to see a brand new chef from Tulum this past weekend and enjoying his work. The restaurant needed something like this a massive lift that can only be provided by chefs who work with integrity like Cesar. We enjoyed the brunch pancakes with cajeta. Looking forward to coming back to see Cesar again.

This place was remarkable. We got tostones, salsa trio, and the rajas con crema. Last was mouthwatering. For mains we got the robalo costeño and I got enchiladas verdes. Entrées had *beautiful* presentation, and were so wonderful besides. For whatever reason there are upscale Mexican places in Astoria that get better fanfare than this place, but for me, this was such an amazing find. I won't go elsewhere anymore.
