Great food and amazing service! Personal favorite spot for my friends and I. Everything I have tried is great and I highly recommend.
Review update this is a Ghost Kitchen location and More expensive, then 38 st location 2 pork katsu should only be $28.25 after tax: Express kitchen that you never saw on the 4th floor walk up in a sketchy rundown building for local Uber eats/door dash. Card only no cash you have to call a number to be let in the building and the guy gives you pin code for entry then call again when you reach the 4th floor To avoid Manhattan locations with crowds and terrible parking, I would visit this location again and eat in my car outside. This is in a quiet industrial area
This is a takeout place inside a old walk up office building, you need to call them at the door so they will buzz you in, no call, they won't answer even you are at the 4th floor door plus poor reception. Basically I pay $30 for full meal that have 1 piece of skinny shrimp tempura, 1 hot dog saucesage and a chicken katsu with salty curry over rice. Not something you will want to go back for it. Any neighborhood japanese restaurant can do better, my personal opinion.
This place is definitely sketchy at first and doesn't get much better until you leave with your food to be honest. But that's okay. Go Go Curry is a recognized brand worldwide so we had no issue coming here despite the unassuming exterior and few reviews on Google and Yelp. When you get to the location that Maps takes you, it is a four story building with other companies occupying the bottom three floors. You need to follow the signs and take the stairs to the fourth floor, where you'll find a closed white door with a phone number to call. Once you call that number, someone from Go Go Curry will open the door and allow you to pick up your order or place one. When we went, we did not place an order ahead of time. As we waited for our food it seemed like the normal practice for other customers was to have the order placed already, or to place a delivery order as we saw many delivery drivers come and go. We were given a menu with a few options, mainly curry on rice and other fried dishes, and then we gave them our card to pay. I did expect each dish to be a bit cheaper considering the lack of seating and the lowkey area and building that the restaurant occupies, but it did end up being around $20 for the meal. The majority of my group ordered the pork katsu. We did inquire whether they could change the spice level but the answer is No. If you go to the sit down version they may allow this, but it seems like at this location it's set in stone. The actual food itself was quite good. The curry sauce was so delicious I ate all the rice too which is unusual for me. The portion is good and it carried heat well all the way back to the hotel. The only reason I do not give it 5/5 is that it's really inconvenient if you're not ordering by delivery. The area is mostly manufacturing/office buildings and the building it's in is pretty easy to miss. There's also no where nearby (like a park) where you can sit and eat the food, so you'll have to go elsewhere to eat it.
