Chama Mama - Broad Channel

Delicious food! The breads and the veggie options were incredible. Portions were a good size and the restaurant had great ambience and service. Please make your meat halal!:

Chama Mama has a live atmosphere, sometimes noisy, and good food but I feel that I was not that lucky on my choices or the day. The service is kind and helpful. Tried the BEEF AND PORK KHINKALI and the JONJOLI SALAD to start. I was surprised how salty they were, especially one of the dumplings that had a lot of soup inside. Disappointed. The service was horrible. Food was overcooked and very dry. Average at best. Would not go back

This was my first time eating Georgian food. Having said that, below are my thoughts: 1) food was tasty. Everything (except for the pickles, obviously) was done in real time and portions were abundant 2) service was fast and respectful. The manager apologized in person for the delay in our dumplings. The waiter explained the wine offerings in a very knowledgeable yet easygoing way 3) the space is clean and very lively. The tables could have a bit more space between each other

I'm used to the Georgian cuisine and I highly enjoyed this restaurant's food. Imeruli khachapuri and the meat platter was very delicious. I also tried kharcho soup that my husband ordered, I loved it. For the drinks I ordered pear and tarragon lemonades (I wish they had a grape one). I mistakenly reserved a table in Chelsea location, but arrived to the one close to the Central park.
