Przekaż informację zwrotną1st Timers to Marilyn's Pub tonight. We sat in the dining area rather than the bar, our waitress said we couldn't partake in the Happy Hour Specials the $6 appetizers and $1 off drinks), even though it doesn't say anything about that on their website or on their Facebook page. Seems a bit ridiculous since we were only sitting 20 feet away from the bar. But the decor of the dining room was nice enough, the place had a Marilyn Monroe theme, of course. I felt the lighting was on the dark side, it might have been romantic if the seating was private booths, but it was hardly romantic with 3 large screen tv's. Was a bit difficult to read the menu also, because it was so dark. My wife ordered an Italian Wedding martini, and I had a beer. My wife's martini was tasteless. It was supposed to have vanilla vodka, amaretto, cranberry pineapple juices, and white creme de cacao she tasted none of those flavors at all. I took a sip, honestly, I thought it was water with a slight cherry flavor. For 9 bucks, it was a total rip off. Next, my wife's chicken orzo soup came to the table. Bland. No chicken in it, not really any orzo in it either. Horrible. At this point, we were really worried that our entrees would be a bad as everything else had been up to this point. But we were surprised. My wife like her filet mignon special for $12.95, it was decent. Everything was tasty came w/ a baked potato and garlic green beans). My KC burger was also pretty good. I even liked the pulled pork on top, although I thought the sauce they used was a bit sweet for my liking. Coleslaw was flavorless. Overall though, I feel like Marilyn's had some serious missteps tonight. Not sure if we'll give this place another chance. I just get the impression that it is very inconsistent with both the food and the service. I'm giving them a 2 Star rating at this time, it's a borderline 2/3 Stars, IMO. Seems like that falls in line with most of the other reviewers, so I imagine our experience tonight was fairly typical.
I made reservations for dinner and the live band for Wednesday. We arrived at 7:15, we were charged a $5 cover charge, then seated by the door. The place was packed no doubt because of the band. The waitress was trying her best but the way the tables are situated around the dance floor we were on top of one another. The waitress couldn't get in between the tables very well. We ordered drinks, they came out quickly. We ordered nachos to share and we had every intention of ordering entrees but when the nachos didn't come until 8:20 or so the band was starting and we were disappointed by the nachos so much we decided to cash out our tab and just buy drinks from the bar at that point. Our waitress was great th
First of all, I've been here plenty of times to see a pattern of both good and bad. It gets a 2 because it scored one of the lowest ratings from the health department in its town. Augies café, a local dive bar scored exponentially better than Marilyn's low 80s rating. If you're familiar with Augies, it's your typical hole. Diane the owner of Marilyn's is very hard-working and friendly. Bartenders are young and bubbly and everything you want. However, wine can be stale. Occasionally the bartenders don't know how to make simple drinks. Once asked for a martini straight up and got a full glass of just vodka. Their food is not fresh but it is creative. Read the review on the Chicken Milanese Sandwich. I agree. It does cater towards the 40, 50, 60-year-olds. I give this review a two stars because the food is frozen. The drinks are mediocre and it's very pricey for what you get as comparable establishments in the area. It would warrant an extra half star for the bands and DJs but, you can't do that.
Went for a retirement party, the food was wonderful. Also visited for an event and the bar staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.
Came here the other night to see our friend's band play. It was clean, and the restrooms were clean, but we were disappointed because we were told the kitchen was closed when we got there at 9:30. What bar stops serving food around 9:30??????
