We visit this restaurant on a weekly basis and the food is always to a very high standard and the portions are also good. It is good value for the prices of the dish. The staff are also very helpful and will take your choices into account when recommending dishes. Overall I would rate this restaurant as excellent and perhaps one of only two of the best Chinese restaurants in Bristol.
I've been visiting Toro for years, thefood quality is above average in Bristol, but one of their older male staff has been a really annoying character. I was trying to ignore him and only focusing on my food. But now I feel this man has turning to a unbearable irritating character in the restaurant. I wouldn't visit Toro again until this man leave the team.
Toro Noodles offers delicious food that I have enjoyed multiple times with family and friends. However, my visits have been less frequent due to a discouraging experience with one of the older staff members, who appears to be around 40 years old. This staff member consistently portrays a cold demeanor, never smiles, and barely acknowledges customers when spoken to. He particularly seems to exhibit disdain towards mothers with strollers, as he has indicated there is no room for them even when the restaurant is not busy. The lack of customer service and unpleasant attitude of this individual detracts from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience at Toro Noodles. It is perplexing why someone like him is employed at this establishment.
This is my second review. This time we threw ourselves to the mercy of the staff. We said we wanted to eat like their 'regulars ' do. So this meant the 3 of us ordered 8 items off a checklist. We were then served everything in a large hotpot. Sounds weird, but it worked and also a lot of fun as we all dipped in to select our mouthfuls one bite at a time. Served with rice. Staff seemed to enjoy helping us whiteys, adding to the very pleasant experience. Including a couple of drinks for Mal and I, £20 per head. No doubt this will be our default Chinese anytime we 're off to a show or gig in the area. Highly recommended.
It's a cliché but true; first thing we noticed when we arrived was the place was full of Asian folks. That reassured me from the start. I found the menu a little confusing so was happy to defer to the ladies to sort out our meal. And that worked really well. I can't really say why but the food was quite different to usual Chinese fare. And in a good way. In particular the spicy prawns had a fiery heat flavour quite unlike anything I'd tasted before. It was delicious. Surroundings are basic but comfortable. Staff attentive but unobtrusive. We seemed to be the only group drinking alcohol; bottle of Aussie pinot grigio £13. All in all £25 per head including tip. I really enjoyed it and will happily return.
