Monte Carlo Cafe - Bristol

This is a lovely family-owned restaurant that I have noticed for years but never had the chance to try until recently. It was highly recommended to me, and I have already been back three times! I have tried a variety of dishes from the menu, and they have all been delicious. The portion sizes are generous, the prices are affordable, and there are plenty of Halal options available as well.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. They offer a halal and vegetarian full English breakfast for only £5. Located right next to a mosque, making it easily accessible for salah. The service is dedicated and attentive, with a nice touch of table service. To be honest, there is nothing to fault here.

Excellent friendly and unobtrisive service. Delicious and copious food. I had the lamb kebab wrap with a little dip of obviously home made harissa, chips and salad. My daughter had moussaka. We were warned that there was a 15 minutes wait and asked if it was ok. and no more than 15 minutes we were served.

At the junction of Robertson Road, Stapleton Road and Fishponds Road. I think it's Greek originally, but nothing obviously Greek about it apart from the sign outside (no, I know Monte Carlo isn't in Greece, underneath that) One of the first places to open after lockdown takeaway only, of course. The tables have been moved to form a barrier down the middle and the chairs stacked up against a wall Friendly smile from the lady serving baking bread as I went in Bacon buttie. Boring white sliced, not the freshly baked stuff, with butter and plenty of bacon. Delicious Machine espresso served in a large polystyrene cup really not very nice what a pity
