Such a cosy pub. We met for a festive catch up and the food was brilliant. Excellent service. Really great country pub.

Booked for festive menu as a treat for the wife but advised as we were getting ready to go out that 48hrs notice was required, to late to book elsewhere so agreed to go ahead, not a great choice of menu and out of the options no steak or steak and ale pie and no sticky toffee for dessert, food was OK and service was good but overall not a great choice of venue, would have been nice to know if the festive menu was jot an option

Very good generously-sized meal, and a nice quiet atmosphere with good service.

Christmas lunch. Had a vegetarian in the party, only one choice of main which was mushroom based- seems some eateries go straight to mushrooms as the option, my guest didn’t like mushrooms so it wasn’t the best menu. The starters and desserts were good, but the main course was a bit sad. No pigs in blankets or yorkshire’s, soggy carrots and hard sprouts (these looked like they had previously been frozen as opposed to prepared from fresh by the kitchen). Expensive for what it was. Nothing really wrong with it, but nothing to make it memorable. Doubt I would eat here again based on this meal. Good service and decent choice of drinks from the bar.
