Luckily they had tables as we were taking our parents out for a treat as they were down staying with us from Scotland for Easter. Booked via IHG site so that may be where the problem is, not sure. Either way, not great to arrive at venue and no booking! Food was nice and the staff were friendly. Good portions and tasty. Not really a restaurant environment, more a shopping mall experience which is fine but not for special occasions.
We have been dining weekly at Café Rouge for a long time and have been quite satisfied with our experience. Service is good and with the aid of vouchers can make for a very good and economic dinner.
I booked the table on line, but when I showed a member of staff the confirmation from opentable there appeared to be a problem. We were given a table, then another member of staff asked to see the reservation and claimed that they didn't know that they were with opentable for bookings! They said that they wouldn't ask us to leave and they would look into it!! There were a lot of things off the menu and it appeared that there was a problem in the kitchen! This is the second time that they have taken quite a lot off of the menu, better planning and management is required.
I booked a table through Open Table they had no knowledge of it. We were told there would be a 30 minute delay in serving food. Steak ordered rare was medium. After 2 hours we decided to ask for the bill I only got a starter and we were all waiting for the desserts we ordered. Bill took 20 mins to arrive. Seriously why would we recommend it to our friends in deed why would we ever go there again?
