We attempted to order some dishes from the mixed up menu including two vegetarian dishes. This was really difficult and so we ended up with the worst tasting bean curd and a plate of green vegetables. No drink was offered so none of the party dare ask. I would suggest that if you have some knowledge of Chinese, you may just find this place acceptable and maybe the local Chinese students do. However, I can say that I have never been in a worse Chinese eatery than this. Rubbish food and rubbish service. Try this place at your peril.
Great food here. Dont be afraid to ask for less hot or Spicy as they will cater for you. Food is delicious, staff are nice, Restaurant is not fancy and lunch is popular with uni students. Great value formoney.
I had an ocassion to stop here for a week and had 3 meals from this restuarant.Due to a hospital stay. it is one of the best chinese restuarants I have visited lately. The food is delicious and great value. ques out the door tell the storyRecommend this restuarant to anyone
I used to drive to Coopers Plain to eat at the original Red Hut, so I was very happy when they opened another branch nearer my place. I just LOVED the food! Quite spicy but delicious. Great vegetarian choices and very good service. The staff speaks English fluently and understands what 'no meat' means (unlike in the original branch, where they argued that 'pork' was not meat but flavouring). I've been to this restaurant twice with different groups of friends and we were all very happy.
I've eaten lunch and dinner here dozens of times, and had a mostly excellent experience. The service can be a bit lacklustre - I recommend going over what you have ordered with the waitress to make sure it's correct, but the quality of food is very good. Dishes will come out as they're cooked, so everything hits the table hot. I would recommend staying clear of the "western friendly" dishes, and go for the real Hunan flavours, such as the pickled beans and pork, or the pork intestine and chilli.
