Having walked past Grace Platter on several occasions, Phuong Tran and I decide to try their Lunch Menu. Walking in, we see a nicely decorated cozy Japanese Korean restaurant. We order 2 Mains from the $9.90 Lunch Special Menu and a serving of Tempura Prawns $11.90). <br/ <br/ The Tempura Prawn Udon and Tempura Chicken Udon are served in a hot tasty broth with a generous amount of Udon. The Tempura Prawns has a serving of four. We are told they are Banana Prawns and they do taste fresh. <br/ <br/ Overall, we had an enjoyable lunch which provides good value. Thank you Grace Platter!
A really unassuming restaurant in Graceville but don’t let that put you off! The food is excellent quality, beautifully presented and the price is right. Well worth eating there for a great evening. The soft shell crab salad and the fried chicken and sashimi and coconut prawn entrees all have to be tried to be believed!!
What I can gather is that a couple young Japanese mates got on the sake one night and decided that they can cook better food than in a typical Japanese restaurant. <br/ <br/ And you know what? I think they might have been on a winning idea. It's a great mix of interesting foods that's not boring sushi. <br/ Eggplant dumplings stuffed with delicious<br/ Chicken drumsticks served 3 ways<br/ Karaage perfectly cooked<br/ Teriyaki beef slab served on kale (I know kale sucks, but this was actually really delicious).<br/ <br/ The boys have a long way to go and a lot to learn, like; not all westerners love the ABBA sound track, and cheese burgers aren't Japanese. But what the hell, they are giving it a go, and you should give them a go too.
