Pre Covid in 2019 I visited this bakery and cafe twice and totally loved it and the Tiramisu there was to die for. Post Covd now I visited this place again and it has changed from a great bakery and cafe to a bakery plus candy and soda store and the Tiramisu was soggy and after one bite I threw it away. I tried a coconut cake and it was eaten out of pure hunger and not for my personal delight. The service was flat and the staff didn´t show any interest in offering any service. A huge disappointment and left me sad as I had been dreaming of the pre Covid gory of the pastry at the so called bakery. Going to Brighton again later on this year and this is not on my visit list.

I have been meaning to write this review for ages now but have only just found the time. I visited this cafe with my partner in September last year, we popped in for some breakfast. I ordered a mozzarella panini and my partner a full breakfast and two drinks. On the outside they advertise as selling breakfast for £6.95 and we thought that sounded a great price. We made our way in and ordered our food it came to £29.00 ?!?!? Me and my partner were very confused so went upstairs like we were told and decided to sit down and try and work out why it ended up being so much, when we added it up it should have only been £15 and that is us being generous, so when they bought our drinks over I questioned why I had been charged so much, the manager then quickly went over what we ordered (so fast we didn’t understand) and walked away before I could ask anything else, so I thought I would leave it till the end. The food arrives and two breakfasts and a panini arrives and I realise the mistake so I tell the chef who has bought it over I have only ordered one breakfast and a panini, he says he will go downstairs to speak to the manager (lovely chef). Anyway he comes back up and says the manager wants to speak to me downstairs, which I thought was odd so leaving my food to get cold I go downstairs, i then speak to the manager and say I never ordered two breakfasts and thought I had been over charged. He then tells me now it’s been made I can’t have my money back even though I never ordered it, I am vegetarian so wouldn’t be able eat the breakfast anyway, so I said no I didn’t want this so i want my money back, and he straight up refused to give me my money back, eventually after my partner realised I had been gone for a while, the manager could see there was other customers seeing what was happening, so he threw the money at me. I work in a cafe myself and have never ever experienced anything like this, if I had taken someone’s order wrong I wouldn’t think twice about giving their money back. The food was horrible dry and microwaved and the coffee burnt. I would recommend you hire a new manager who understands customer service and new staff who won’t laugh at a customers disappointment in the company. Will never return and have told many many people about this place. Also you really clean your shop.
Service is poor. Staffs are looks unhappy. It was my second time and both times wrong order and waited too much.
