After 5 - Brighton and Hove

Reading the recent Trip Advisor reports, it's clear to me that visiting After 5 is a bit hit and miss but I have to say that on the few occasions I have got my food from After 5, it has been fine, not outstanding, but fine. Lets face it, this is a takeaway-only establishment; I'm not expecting high-end food. I think what After 5 needs to work on is its consistency. Waterloo Street (not Road as it is registered here) is a great little venue for capturing passing traffic and for this reason alone, I hope that After 5 rises to the challenge that recent Trip Advisor visitors have clearly set it.

Well as the title says, we only ever get our Chinese from here. The food is reasonable for the amount you get. It's always really tasty, the people that take your order are always very friendly and helpful, the delivery guys are always polite and friendly. I would highly recommend the salt and pepper squid or tofu, and the Japanese udon noodle dishes, the Japanese breadcrumbed meat curries, the sweet and sour pork hong kong style and the aromatic duck. You can tell care has gone into the prep of the food, their dumplings are yum, their pancake rolls are so full of yummy filling. I would recommend this to anyone and have, and they only order from them now too. We don't have take away often, but it's reliably good whenever we do have it.

Best Chinese delivery in Brighton at the moment! Would recommend. Quick service, great food, reasonable prices.

From the moment we rang the service was excellent. We were told our meal would arrived in 40 minutes and were delighted when it arrived in 30. We were going to go to Danny's, which is always excellent, but they weren't answering the phone so we found this by looking on tripadvisor. We rang and, not having a menu, just asked for the same food (prawn crackers, sweet and sour prawn balls, salt and pepper tofu, egg fried rice and plain noodles). I was amazed when, instead of costing the £21.50 it would have in Danny's, it was only £15.30!!!!! And it was just as good quality. I can't recommend this take away highly enough and will be using again.

On March 5, 2013, I ordered vegetable spring rolls, two types of bean curd, and Singapore noodles at this restaurant. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat any of it. The bean curd was dry and overcooked, with a lumpy sauce. The noodles tasted dry and had a cheap, nasty sauce with raw vegetables mixed in. I was really disappointed, especially considering how expensive the meal was. What's even more frustrating is that I was overcharged by £3 and forced to pay an extra £2 for delivery, even though I live in Hove. I will never be dining at this restaurant again. It was absolutely disgusting.
