However, the manager didn’t come over for another ten minutes. In the meantime, I felt uneasy and stepped away to the restroom. When I came back, my friend informed me that the manager still hadn’t approached us, so we decided to go to the reception to express our desire to leave. The manager appeared annoyed, as she was busy on the phone making another reservation. When she finally spoke to us, she downplayed the issue by saying, “We only saw a worm” – this was after we had eaten three slices of an eight-slice pizza. I could only hope it was just one. She mentioned wanting to talk to the chef, but it didn’t seem like that would change anything, especially when she returned to say, "It was on the arugula," implying that the worm had traveled down onto my plate before we noticed. My friend asked the manager how other diners might react if they were made aware of this situation, to which the manager responded, “We can’t do anything now.” Our major concern was that if they hadn’t washed the arugula properly, we couldn’t trust that any of the other salads we ordered had been thoroughly cleaned. The manager then said, “I took the pizza off your bill,” as though doing us a huge favor. Meal times included some sort of greens, and I was left anxious about even ordering a mojito. As we tried to pay for our drinks and leave, the manager insisted on charging us for everything else, which felt unfair. It turned into a frustrating back-and-forth, but ultimately we settled the bill and left. Before exiting, we showed other guests waiting to be seated the photos of the worm, and they immediately backed away. No apologies or explanations were offered, just that it was "a small worm" and that the pizza had been removed from our bill. That was our experience at the restaurant. I can’t help but think that if the worm incident hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have left Barbados with such a bad taste in my mouth.
I was initially disappointed that there were no vegan main courses on the menu, but we decided to order some appetizers: the vegan taco, salad, and vegan pizza, which we had served alongside the other guest's main course. Everything was delicious!
Fabulous service at a beautiful table over the sea. many dishes of choice are made from ground up, so they tell them what they want to veganize it!
The vegan tacos were good but this was really the only option on the menu. Also there was no main course offering. However the service was good and the view was nice.
