Emporium Bistro - Bridgetown

The food here is amazing!!! I have never had a bad meal here!! Highly recommend the Emporium to all!! Always fresh!! Some say it's a tad expensive, I say it's worth every cent!! Always walk out satisfied and feeling like I totally got my monies worth!! Friendly efficient, professional staff, tidy, clean, and more than happy to look after you!! Well done guys!!

Emporium Bistro is busy all day every day but the service is always friendly, professional & on time. Foood is fantastic- on trend & downright delicious. Whatever you do, save room for the "Duffins"! A sugar coated crunchy outside with a light as a feather inside! Truly wicked but oh so yummy. On the other hand, you could try the churros.......

Really warm and inviting restaurant. Loved the fireplace and a few of the tables having a more casual dining feel with the lounges. Arrived earlier than the reservation time but this was no issue and we were seated promptly. The restaurant being at about half capacity at this point with the remaining tables being reserved. Ordered drinks, entrée and main all at once. The waitress said that the drinks would be along as soon as someone had a second to stop. Wasn’t terribly impressed at this point. They were clearly understaffed and it wasn’t going to get any better. Our entrée, the Calamari, appeared on the table within minutes. Nice, light batter and a decent serving. But drinks nowhere in site, which I mentioned. About 5-10 minutes after we finished the entrée the drinks arrived. An espresso martini and a teacup of mulled wine. Less than a minute later mains arrived. Porterhouse Steak with Celeriac Puree, Wilted Spinach and Jus. Came out medium as requested but was quite tough. And no steak knife. However the puree, spinach and jus were amazing and a real standout! Given that the bill came to over $160 for 2 people and the whole experience was over in about 45 minutes it was a bit disappointing. I was looking forward to a bit of country hospitality but never got it. Overall – would I return? Yes. I’d just hope I came on a better staffed night.

I ordered fish and chips for lunch, priced at $28. I got 2 pieces of fish (Snapper, I was told) with chips and salad. The fish was just 2 small strips done in very thick batter which made it look a reasonable serving, which it was not. The chips serving was smallish and not real hot and mostly not crisp. The salad was fresh with good ingredients. The wait for food was long but the service polite and well performed. Basically, the meal was way overpriced. My companions were quite happy with their choices but not intended to return.
