The moment we stepped inside, we were unsure whether we should seat ourselves or wait for someone to assist us. After a few moments, with no staff in sight, we just walked to the back and settled at a table. The interior had a strange odor, which didn’t help the ambiance. A waitress did come to us fairly quickly since the place was mostly empty apart from the bar. She handed us the menus, which included a special menu for the day (Thursday). Since we were unfamiliar with the specials, we let her guide us through the beer options, which were limited to Miller or Bud Light on draft. The selection of bottled beers and wine was also presented, but seeing the prices seriously discouraged me from ordering a 14oz Stella for $8. I opted for the Bud Light draft special for $2.50, not realizing it would only be a small glass, probably around 6oz. We decided to share a couple of appetizers: Baked Stuffed Clams (3) and Crabs Stuffed with Lump Crabmeat (4). I was amused when I saw the crabmeat — it was just tiny mushrooms filled with canned crabmeat, not lump at all! As for the clams, they tasted definitely frozen and were stuffed with terrible breading. Honestly, I’ve had better from ShopRite! For dinner, my husband ordered the Steak Sinatra, which came out looking like something from a diner topped with half-melted mozzarella, served alongside unflavorful mashed potatoes in a brown sauce. Before ordering, I specifically asked the waitress about the bowl of mussels in red sauce with garlic bread. I inquired whether it was a red gravy or a thin spicy broth, and she assured me it was the latter. I was thrilled since I love mussels in Fra Diavolo. Unfortunately, she brought me the worst mussels imaginable — fishy, gooey, and drowning in a thick, unappetizing orangey sauce with onions. They were absolutely inedible! I politely asked her to take them away. When she noticed I hadn’t touched them, she asked if I wanted them wrapped up! I grimaced to express my disapproval, saying, “Oh God, no.” I requested another draft to help wash that taste away and managed to keep the mood light enough that we even shared a laugh. To top things off, the waitress didn’t even remove the mussels from our bill! Seriously?! Rivoli’s, this is unacceptable! And a special mention to the waitress, Francesca, for not apologizing or offering to adjust our bill after such an awful experience — especially when I explained why I couldn’t eat the mussels! I can only give this place one star because I can’t give less. Consider this a warning: avoid this restaurant!
Always great. Especially Football days eg College or NFL. Great selection of big TVs. Great menu. I usually have the Rivoli burger bacon with fried onions comes with fries. Our servers are always nice to us. New thing I didn't know about half price For Men on Monday's.
The service at this restaurant is truly terrible. I placed a takeout order at 5:30, and it wasn't ready until 7:30. When I finally got home, I discovered that the wings and sliders I ordered were missing. It's incredibly disappointing. I tried to support local businesses during the early days of quarantine, but this one might as well shut its doors. What a letdown.
I went on a Wednesday night which is usually karaoke night but was trumped by a Yankees wildcard game. There was ample room at the bar, because the game wouldn't start for another hour. My bartender, Gary, was very attentive and friendly even though he was busy with drink and food. The seem to care a bit more about what beer is just in, and the menu shows which have been tapped out. I care a little more about the beer and ales than the food. That night there was a $5.00 special, and I got a nice chicken wrap and fries...the fries came in a mini fry basket..hey, I thought it was a nice touch. There are high tables as well as booths. Go online to see specials. Lots of TVs. One night they have bingo (haven't tried that yet). Plenty of parking in the big lot of Quail Creek Mall.
Was this restaurant good because of our server Kelly? Absolutely! She was fantastic, and the food was pretty good too. On Mondays, you can get burgers for half price, just $6, and they are excellent. Don't forget to use your Yelp coupon for a free nacho platter, which is also great. Monday is bingo night, which attracted a lot of people, but my brothers and I weren't interested, so it was a bit annoying for us. The beer selection has improved significantly, and there are many more TVs now. Kelly informed us that the same family has owned the restaurant for 29 years, which is impressive—kudos to them for not getting complacent! The place is located in a strip mall in the Ramtown area of Howell. Overall, I'd consider this a positive review and give it 3.5 stars.
