Birthday brewed and she wonderfully accommodated us in her family area.... brought us within an hour, with a high chair, there is a clean bathroom with a change table in the family department, when we asked about "baby food", they brought us thin cut grilled chicken breast and an assortment of roasted veg to cut for our daughter. Cheers ^ ^ see on Saturday evening without the baby for a rough night!
Great Service, Great Beer My wife and I stopped by for Wing Night and the service was Great. Andria took very good care of us and made us feel welcome. My wife had the Honey Garlic wings and she loved them. I had the Blue Moon wings (Blue Cheese and Hot Sauce). The sauce was great, and most of the wings were good (Drumettes) but some of them were a little dry. The beer was very cold and my wife was happy they served Coke products (a lot of places seem to serve Pepsi in Victoria) We will definitely be back.
Our first and last visit to the Bleue Coyote was a time warp, the initial evidence of which was in the parking lot – a sleek black and silver Dodge Dart with the engine poking through the hood and racing stripes along the sides. The restaurant’s décor was also reminiscent of the 1970s, as was the music – which we mostly enjoyed. The menu had the usual west coast pub fare of appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, brunch dishes and full dinners. There were some items from the present day such as pulled pork tacos, a bison burger, veggie burger, quesadilla and Thai curry. We chose two burgers – the Loaded Burger: sautéed mushrooms and double smoked bacon and the Chicken Taco Burger: tortilla breaded chicken breast, spicy buffalo sauce, guacamole, havarti cheese and coyote aioli. The patty of the Loaded Burger was thin, chewy and burnt to a blackened crisp in several places. The bacon tasted a bit rancid. The server took the plate away without any drama and brought a replacement later. It also featured a burned patty, mostly just on one side, and the melted cheese that was missing in the first version. The server explained that the burgers were handmade and cooked on a grill, which explained the burned portions. We countered that many restaurants cook their burger patties on a grill but don’t burn the meat till it’s hard and black, for example Chuck’s Burgers in Sidney who make consistently excellent burgers. The Chicken Taco Burger contained a large piece of chicken breast coated with pulverized bits of multi-coloured tortilla chips. It tasted better than it looked and would have been easier to deal with had it been 25% smaller. The buffalo sauce, guacamole and coyote aioli seemed to fight with each other for the attention of your taste buds in between oozing out of the bun at random locations. The menu description was enticing but the end result didn’t add up. The fries were adequate and while the poutines contain “fresh cut Kennebec fries” the burgers might not be so lucky. The décor and furnishings are probably original, from a couple of decades ago, along with the lights that barely illuminated the menu. Low light might keep more customers in the dark.
Always reliable service, good pub food. Lots of fun on Friday nights for bingo! Super bowl Sunday has great prizes!
Yummy wings and AWESOME staff! Great happy hour. The atmosphere is very laid-back. Being from Las Vegas, I know that service. This place provides excellent service.
