Mexicali Grill - Brentwood

The food was simply delicious. We kicked off our meal with a selection of appetizers, including fresh guacamole and tasty nachos. Each dish showcased care and authenticity in its preparation. For our main courses, we enjoyed a variety of traditional Mexican dishes, ranging from savory tacos to expertly seasoned enchiladas. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion sizes were generous. The restaurant's ambiance contributed to the overall enjoyment of our meal. It was lively yet cozy, making it an ideal place for a family gathering. We left feeling completely satisfied and eager to return. The chef served a taco salad shell that was completely burnt to the point of crumbling to dust at a touch. To make matters worse, the server presented it as if there was nothing wrong. We were in a hurry and I didn't have the time to send it back (I rarely return food anywhere). The filling was unseasoned and required a lot of salsa to add any flavor. Typically, I give restaurants two chances before deciding whether to return, but this experience was just too disappointing.

I definitely plan to check out the bar, possibly for happy hour after work, to try some drinks. The food comes out hot, and the plates are warm, which is nice – I appreciate that it isn't served cold. The flavors have been consistently good, not bland, and I really enjoy the salsa they prepare. The starter guacamole I ordered was also delicious and well-seasoned. Overall, everything has been great, and I'll keep coming back for lunch! As for parking, the area is small and fills up quickly, but all areas are on the ground level, making it easy to navigate from the front door. There are spacious areas to the left in the dining area for anyone needing to park a wheelchair or scooter.
