The Great Danes Pub - Breckland

We stayed one night in our camper van in the car park at the Great Danes country Inn at Beachamwell (a small pretty village near Swaffham) as a stop over on the way to the Norfolk Broads. Roger made us very welcome and although the restaurant was closed they served take out food. We were expecting cardboard cartons etc. but Roger came out with a tray, china and cutlery promptly at the time we requested. The food was very good piping hot and generous portions and great value at around £20 for two servings. Definitely recommend.

A simply delightful B&B, the owners couldn’t have been more accommodating. The Great Danes has a wonderfully homely feel and yet perfectly appointed. Highly recommended.

What a gem of a find, off the beaten track but only a few miles from Swaffham and Marham. Fantastic hosts, clean large comfortable room, excellent food all at reasonable price. Self service continental breakfast with plenty of choice at no extra cost. What more could you want. Plenty of space in the car park. overlooking the village green and church. I look forward to a return visit.

There's a nice selection and it's all very reasonably priced. I will be trying the chocolate cake upon recommendation.

I was very disappointed when staying at hotel that the room we had was at the front overlooking the car park but also that room had wallpaper that was coming off the wall all way around the room. There was also damp showing on bathroom ceiling and the whole bathroom could do with a well needed makeover!
