Beautiful spot with nice views. On walking in both my husband and I thought the floor was really dirty which is off-putting but we where already seated. The girl that served us was really lovely and pleasant our drinks came out quickish and our coffees where nice. I had the salmon and my husband had the burger. Both where lovely but a little over priced for what we had. We then ordered desert which was one serve of apple pie which took 40 minutes to come out (it wasn't busy) - this was the most disappointing thing. It was really yummy when it did come but by this stage the wait ruined the experience. Great venue and nice enough food - could be a little cleaner, priced for what it is and a bit quicker on service
After 4 previous lunches here we had made it our Go To place for salt and pepper calamari as it was divine on all previous occasions. This time however was the worst we have had!! We started with a shared plate, the wait staff were very attentive and listened and acted on all our requests without fault, we enjoyed this and looking forward to a main of salt and pepper calamari and the seafood platter. The star of the platter was definitely the Cooked Salmon and mussels but that is where it ended! 1 Piece of frozen fish that was swimming in water after sitting for 5 minutes. 3 cooked prawns that were tasteless supermarket frozen prawns and a crumbed scallop that just didn't taste right, for $39 i felt ripped off! The calamari was meant to come with a salad and a side of aioli, instead the bowl had a tablespoon of wilted greens in the bottom, topped with a generous amount of squid swimming in a mixture of butter and aioli. When we complained a bowl of fresh salad was quickly produced which made the calamari much better. We were also told at the start that the head chef was off today, which were happy with but at the end we were told there was a new chef and they are still learning the menu!!!!!
The view was stunning and there was no issues with parking. Inside the restaurant, as it filled, it became very noisy. Our party began with the garlic bread which was basically a small loaf with a smidge of garlic butter on each end.Then I asked the waitress what the pork cheeks were. I was advised that these were medallions and served with mash and vegies. It turned out to be a hunk of meat that was not cooked enough. In addition, the vegetables were cold and unappetising. It is not very often that I leave half a meal on a plate but I did there.When this was raised with the waitress, she apologized and offered us a free warm drink each. We had a coffee and two hot chocolates. The hot chocolate was anything but hot. Lukewarm at best. When I went to pay for the meal, Iwas also charged for the drinks.Bottom line is I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone which is quite a rarity for me. Very disappointed.
