Portofino Trattoria - Brea

The Italian food here is incredibly authentic, and the owners are warm and welcoming. You won't regret visiting this restaurant—it's definitely a must-try!

I've been working at Portofino for about a week and I can honestly say I appreciate the taste of every dish salad, and bread made in here. I do not cook nor serve but I have witnessed the family vibe. The staff is either a relative or an employee of at least twenty years. Everything is made fresh, from the meatballs to the Tiramisu, served generously and with true love. This family enjoys making food for their customers. I can see it in the cooks preparing the authentic dishes with a timer so that the food is never over cooked, I experience it with the generous variety of food I am offered during my shift, and I get the honor of listening to this family express such respect for each other throughout my shift. The Owner is front of the house and engages with the patrons, it's really nice to see. Not until you experience that you won't know the difference between good and poor service. Their passion for the community is beautiful. They cater and work long hours to serve arriving as early as 7 am to make fresh dishes. It's a rather intimate experience to witness how much each and every one of them genuinely love to cook and serve.

Best Italian food ever!!! I had the eggplant parm and my boyfriend had the fettuccini de la casa. Both were out of this world! The service was top notch- friendly and fast. We had spumoni ice cream for dessert. yum! We will definitely return!

Sorry guys, by far The worst pizza I 've ever had. The only positive experience I had was the two girls working there were friendly and helpful. What they should have said is Don 't get the pizza. It was the most flavorless toughest pie I 've ever tasted. It Looked very good but I didn 't want to look at it, I really wanted to eat it Doubtful if I 'll be back. Again Sorry. If I had tried to have eaten it there I would have asked for my money back. I called and talked to the Owner mainly to tell him about the Pizza not to get my money back, but to tell him exactly how the Pizza tasted or in this case how there wasn 't Any detectable flavor. Alls he did was Insult me and told me to stick to Hamburgers and Hotdogs Rude

The pizza was fantastic! The cheese and sauce were exceptional. I also tried the spaghetti, which was just okay; the sauce could have been thicker, but the sausages were tasty. As for the salad...
