The atmosphere is not much, but the food is great, and the salsa is the best I have had. You get alot of food for the money, and it always taste great. The Pitorito covers a huge plate. I recommend it.
Best chips and salsa of any Mexican Restaurant. My wife and I have been going here for years. Our only complaint is we live to far away to have it weekly.
The restaurant offers generous portions of chips, salsa, and their number 3 enchiladas. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a great dining experience. It's a perfect spot to hang out after a game at Shiloh Field!
I've lived in Brandon for 22 years, and I can confidently say this is the best Mexican food in the Jackson area. They serve the finest chips, tamales, and rice. Yes, it may be a dive, but often those places have the best food!
**Decor:** The ambiance might not be for the faint-hearted, resembling a quirky landfill, but as someone who appreciates vibrant Third World aesthetics, I found it intriguing. Where else can you see sombreros adorning the walls of a Mexican restaurant? Someone has creatively used inexpensive mosaic tiles to craft engaging Mexican-themed designs on the tabletops, featuring cacti, sombreros, and more, all sealed with acrylic. This unique decor definitely makes the visit worthwhile. **Food:** Since Hurricane Katrina brought a significant Mexican population to the Gulf South, we've been fortunate to experience a surge of authentic Mexican cuisine. Many places offer about six or seven meat options prepared in various ways, like tacos and burritos. However, this restaurant's offerings remind me of the old-school, Americanized Mexican food you could find in shopping centers thirty years ago. That said, the food here is an elevated take on those classics and quite delicious. The chips were rustic but warm and flavorful. The red salsa had quite a kick—hotter than most green salsas, which are usually spicier. The yellow rice was well-seasoned, with a hint of cumin, and the beans were also flavorful. I tried a few dishes with shredded beef, and they were quite good. They have a selection of Mexican beers, including Corona; I opted for the XX Amber. The prices were very reasonable, and I would definitely consider returning.
