However, the staff confirmed that all curries and sauces were produced with ghee (clear butter) and not with vegetable oil. Updated by previous rating on 2021-12-03
Love Dosas idlis here. Many other South Indian vegetarian options to choose from.
This vegetarian place only named after Ganpati/Vinayak (Elephant God) is undetected gem for me. For us it is worth the ride (almost 30 km) to Brampton to get some food. We delivered a variety of foods for an important family event and our goal was to pick up 20 different items. We picked up almost 40 articles. The onion pakoras (20/10, yes not a type), Masala Idli, thaali with Tamarind rice or lemon rice (both 10/10 and light charge), all Veg Curries, medu vadas, Spinat medu vadas, Samosas, frit, filled breads, and oh these desserts aromatizes some mango, coconut and more. And the best almost all things we bought were vegans! There was Rita and some dahi wadas who had yogurt. And get these, we did not buy masala dosas, regular idlis, puttus, noodles and pasta (yes they had pasta, probably Tamil or Sri Lanka style) and so much more. I wonder how often I have to make a trip to try everything here.
I recently visited a cozy take-out restaurant in Brampton that was very welcoming. However, I was disappointed to discover that they only offered three vegan options: veggie noodles, rice, and a mashed potato dish. I was really hoping for curry and roti, but I was informed by the staff that all their curries and sauces are made with ghee (clarified butter) instead of vegetable oil. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but limited in vegan choices. This review has been updated as of December 3, 2021.
I really enjoy the dosas and idlis at this restaurant. There are plenty of other South Indian vegetarian dishes to choose from as well.
