Magnums Eatery - Brampton

This is a great local pub/restaurant/sports bar. It is a little off the beaten path away from the downtown Brampton area, but worth easy drive to find it.Beer is cold and plentiful, TV's on the walls cover most sporting events, a small outdoor patio for the warmer months, offers entertainment some nights, service is quick and friendly and they serve the best wings in Brampton.There are lots of menu options that are all good, but the wings are great. Huge size wings, lots of choices of sauces (Jack Daniels BBQ is a big favourite) and they are always cooked perfectly! There are enough menu choices that everyone should be able find something! Try the flatbread as well...very good with some hot sauce on the side!This is a great neighbourhood friendly bar that is exactly "what you see is what you get". No pretentious fine dining - just good local people enjoying a nice selection of beer and drinks and enjoying very good food, especially the wings!

Don't get me wrong, we have never had a bad experience at Magnums. The food is fantastic, the portions the huge although, there are no free refills on your fountain pop. At $3.50 a pop, it would be nice if your server told you that there was no free refills when you order a refill. For 4 pops it totalled $14. That's quite ridiculous. IF we knew the refills were not free, we would have ordered a pitcher of beer for the same price.

This is in our neighbourhood and has been one of our "go-to" spots for several years, whether it be for drinks or dinner. The food ranges from being very good to "be cautious" depending upon the cook. Normally the portions are very generous. The level of customer service definitely varies depending upon the wait staff. We were there with some friends for lunch mid-summer and the waitress didn't come back to check on us once after she dropped our food off at the table. We had to interrupt her twice to order extra drinks, etc., as she chatted with other wait staff at the side of the bar. The owners have done an excellent job decorating and making it a nice place to sit and have a meal. Great deal for prime rib dinner the last Friday of every month! The one thing they desperately need is a new menu. The old menu is worn and dated and with nothing new to offer, we've started to pass on this place when we are deciding where to go.

It's a nice atmosphere. Food is okay. Lots of hidden extra fees like salsa for nachos (imagine, I always thought salsa was included with an order of nachos) and extras for beef dip sandwich which some are clearly stated on the menu and some are not.

We go to Magnums A LOT. We used to split our time between Magnums and Tracks but Tracks wasn't so great so we went to Magnums. The place is nice inside. You'll find every age group and demographic inside. It's a great atmosphere. But make no mistake, even though the owner brings his 1991 haircut and bathing trunk shorts to the bar almost every day, it's the food and the servers that keep people coming back. I've never seen an owner who frequents his own establishment so much, be so ignorant to his customers. He has a look on his face as though HE'S doing you a favour by providing somewhere to spend YOUR money. It's really quite comical to witness once you get past the shock that he could care less if you're there or not. Most owners in a place like this, at the very least, ACKNOWLEDGE the regulars. NOPE, not this guy...if you can get past the freak show that is the owner, then you'll enjoy yourself. The food is very good, reasonably priced and a good size portion. The daily specials are good too.
