I’ve been coming to this cafe ever since I was a little girl, I don’t live in Essex anymore but whenever I come back to visit I always come down for lunch or coffee and cake! The vegan and vegetarian food is amazing and the coffee is always great, Grace and Josh work hard to make the cafe and the plaza an amazing place for everyone. It’s also very dog friendly so a great place to walk to from the flitch or the discovery!
Conveniently located on Flitch Way for cyclists and walkers in old railway station. Affordable basic food and snacking options.
This restaurant has incredible cakes that make it worth a visit just for that alone. Additionally, you can enjoy your treat while sitting on the old platform next to an antique train. The atmosphere is very charming, especially on a sunny afternoon.
After a late night out with friends and losing an hour of sleep due to daylight savings, I woke up on Easter Sunday to my eager 10-year-old son asking to go on a bike ride instead of receiving a chocolate egg. We set off with our dog towards the Flitch Way, cycling 1.2 miles of the 15-mile path before stopping at the Booking Hall Cafe. The cafe is housed in an old train carriage, creating a unique and charming atmosphere in the village of Rayne. The young staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. My son and I enjoyed a delicious bacon sandwich and quick service. The portion sizes were generous and reasonably priced. Although we declined dessert, we plan to return in the future. The cafe also provided water for our dog and had ample seating, including a section for children. Overall, our experience was excellent and I highly recommend the Booking Hall Cafe for a memorable dining experience. It was the best Easter ever.
