Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was initially put off by the customers at the bar. However, since I was with a group, I decided to stay. The food took a very long time to arrive and when it did, my steak was cooked more than I had requested. I didn't complain because I was extremely hungry and the server, who seemed to be handling everything on her own, was very friendly and polite. The prices seemed too high for the quality of the food. I suspect that the duck spring rolls were store-bought and not freshly made. When I went to pay at the bar, I encountered more of the same type of questionable characters.
What a delightful surprise! Kudos to the talented young chef who prepared the outstanding king prawn dish. The goats cheese pizza was a flavor sensation. This exceeded our expectations for a bar meal. The exceptional service and accommodating attitude of the staff, especially Alice, made our evening truly special. Three cheers for Three Horses! If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend stopping by for great food and service. We will definitely be returning!
Tried again today after last time which i felt the food was just ok. Same again today really, just average and what I would call a bit overpriced for what it is. I feel they have not really found an identity yet for the food side of this pub, i feel they are trying to charge more gastro pub prices but serving quite average food in what is actually a commity local drinking pub. They are giving table service which is a new thing for the 3 horses as in the past it was always order and pay at the till. I think maybe they think this justifies the prices, however they seemed understaffed and the service is a little hectic. Tables not finished being laid up for example so we had to get our own cutlery from a ice cream tub with cutlery in that had been left on the table. I can say that the staff that were their were friendly and nice enough. I just feel that this pub needs to decide on its identity, is it a family community value local pub or is it a gastro pub? I dont see how it can ever be both. I would say that currently the mains are £1 to £2 over priced and starters £1 to £1.50 overpriced.
Went to The Three Horses pub on boxing day with the family for a meal, there was 17 of us, the staff were lovely, they asked us when we would like our food as we had pre ordered our meals, whilst waiting for our food the waitress brought over colouring activities over to the children to keep them entertained.. the food came out in good time, the waitress couldnt be more helpful bringing out all our meals and then going back and fourth for sauces ect. The food was amazing! Hot, cooked to perfection and well presented too. Couldnt have asked for a better meal.. great family pub, great value and quality! Well done!
