They also included some tasty onion rings with salsa and sour cream on the side. It was all delicious. My wife loved her latte, and the Halloween marshmallow in the kids' hot chocolate was a nice touch. We didn't plan on eating here, but it was definitely worth it in the end.
I have been a patron of Woodbank and the Potting Shed for 17 years. The food and service were once exceptional. During my most recent visit, I ordered cake and coffee. Unfortunately, after waiting for twenty minutes, my cake arrived lukewarm. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the staff seemed preoccupied and lacking in supervision. There are now better options in Harden village and Bingley for baked goods and coffee. The owners should take heed of customer feedback and make improvements. Although I have fond memories of this place, I will be exploring other dining options moving forward after giving multiple chances for improvement.
We had a lovely experience today 2/8/23, the staff were really lovely and friendly, we were served quickly and when we made a query about something they were quick to find the manager. The manager was lovely and quickly tended to our needs. The ice creams (especially the unicorn one) was delicious and the lattes were perfect. A lovely visit to both the cafe and garden centre.
Went for lunch with 3 children. Ordered and sat down, waited 20 minutes for drinks and after 45 minutes waiting for lunch I informed the staff that we had to leave soon as we had horse riding booked, I was assured it was being plated up now. I could see other customers getting frustrated with the long wait and getting apologies from staff. Another 15+ minutes later we still hadn’t received our lunch and this was now over an hours wait. I had to ask for a refund as we had to leave. The cafe was constantly seating streams more people while the kitchen staff were almost in tears unable to cope and I questioned why they were still seating people when they clearly couldn’t handle the customers they already had to which the response was fair point. Had to then take 3 very hangry children riding, if we had have been told of the long wait we could have gone elsewhere. Definitely need more staff, be honest with customers and a short staff plan for capacity! We won’t be coming back which is such a shame as it was one of our favourite places before it was taken over.
So bad, honestly. Don’t waste your money or your time. First of all, all the tables were filthy.. we sat down at a table that hadn’t been cleaned nor been cleared of the previous plates etc. Someone was walking around with a giant bucket, putting old plates and glasses into this. He cleared all of the empty tables but left ours… this confused me slightly. I approached and asked him to clear ours. I got no response but he did clear it. Fast forward, I ordered the fajita chicken burger. The chips were nice but overcooked, the onion rings were only as I can describe as vile, the bread was stale and the corn on the cob. Well, it had seen better days. No one asked how our food was… apparently they are too busy to check on this. I told the waitress at the end that the food wasn’t great but she was immediately defensive and handled the situation with an attitude, waving her arms around. Anyway, I was offered a drink on the house or a cupcake or tart but I decided to decline as they didn’t look too appetising either. I’d just avoid to be honest. Judging by the other reviews, it seems I’m not alone in thinking this.
