The pub is very authentic and has the classic feel about it,ya know the low wooden beams and old fashioned chairs with red fabric etc.The restaurant on the side is more modern and my family sat in here to eat.The Sunday dinners were brilliant and those tht opted for the pie dish were as equally impressed. The staff were all polite and happy which made our family visit a very enjoyable one. After lunch we sat in the beer garden and watched cricket for a while in the sun, how quintessential
A small family lunch to end the summer hols was well recieved. Traditional menu including family favorites was served in good time by pleasent and helpful staff. Empty plates retuned to the kitchen and all left satisfied.
Everything was great. Great atmosphere, friendly chatty landlord, lovely food and great beer. Food was generous and very tasty. Will be back.
Great location pub , could be excellent with a bit of tweaking here and there , positives ; great beers friendly place best outdoor pub in the surrounding area , after a very poor food visit a few months back , we opted to try again, and to be fair the roast beef sandwich and chips was excellent , as were the other meat sandwiches we ordered , not sure on the main meals this time , didn’t try after the last fiasco , maybe the way to go for now might be top class sandwiches, rather than overpriced poor quality meals , In honesty I really hope this place does eventually deliver good meals , because this would be a big success for the pub . The area around the pergola and the tables on the edge of the cricket pitch was very scruffy today , litter and debris all over and glass also under tables , but positively better today
Great pub food great atmosphere, cricket was playing on the pitch proper country pub, lots of families enjoying themselves I will 100% be back. Not sure what the odd negative review is about.
