This place is fantastic. Chef Gaetano is very professional and very respectful of traditional Italian cuisine. I am from Europe and have been looking for a place with real Italian flavors for a while. All the places I went before me never filled me because it was more an American court. When you get there, the greeting of Gaetano and his staff is very friendly and charming. It's not going to a restaurant, but more to go to family. My wife and I really enjoyed the ambience, professionalism and food (from the real Sicilian tradition). All that is done in a real way is Gaetano really great. PS for Gaetano : Thank you for the Harissa.
Do not confuse Ortygia Sicilian delights with Italian dishes. No standard lasagna and spaghetti in this unique bistro. Sicily is fusion food mixed with all nations that ruled the island paradise over the millennia. A touch of Italian, a pinch of Germanic, a ting of Turkish, a crushing of Spanish, a mite of Africa, and a soupcon of French all on their fullness of seafood, Sicilian products and pasta, always the handmade pasta.
By far the best place to eat in town. Gaetano is a genius. Lovely staff as well. Thank you all for another amazing meal!
