The food was so much better, fresh, tasty and value for moneyThe beef and bacon burger was excellent, as was the battered fish and chipsHappy to recommend and can't wait to return
I found the staff to be helpful and friendly in this newly renovated cafe. It recently got a new owner too.But I believe the prices are quite expensive for what you get. I ordered pancakes with berries, maple syrup and ice cream . The service was quite quick but the pancakes were undercooked and I had to ask for more berry compote and syrup, there were only about half a dozen mixed berries and I couldn't see any syrup, even the wait person commented on the lack! I would go back for coffee but not for a meal.
Decided to take the kids to breakfast during the school holidays as a treat. I'd never been to the Albany Creek CC but have been to the one in Toowong a number of times for lunch whilst at work and haven't had a bad meal yet.It was clean, fresh and modern, so no complaints about the decor. We were served promptly as well. The kids wanted pancakes but as they don't like blueberries or raspberries, they didn't want the 'mixed berries' on top. I asked if they could just have strawberries but was told that as they use frozen berries out of a packet, that wasn't possible (should have realised this was a hint of things to come). So I asked about swapping banana for berries and was told that they could do that. I ordered the corn and zucchini fritters. The pancakes can out and looked fine except for the lengthways halved banana that looked terrible (more brown splotches than white). Both kids immediately asked if that had to eat it as it looked that bad. I assured them that it must have been cooked hence why it looked so soggy and unappealing. And I think it had - one child tasted it and said it was warm. I must say that the kids enjoyed the pancakes, cream and ice cream, just not the banana. My fritters came out and I swear they were pre-cooked / frozen and had just been heated up. They were suspiciously identical in size and roundness and had that dried skin look. They were okay to eat and I finished my meal, but they certainly didn't taste like they had just been cooked.Time to leave and was then charged an additional $1.50 for the banana as it was considered an extra. I asked whether there was a discount for not having berries but was told 'that they don't do that'. I swallowed my argumentative impulse (as it was just a young girl serving me and it wasn't her fault) and handed over my $50 to cover the $49 breakfast. She must have seen my face as she then said that she would remove the additional charge (thank you, this was appreciated).I suppose I just don't understand the lack of flexibility- it wasn't as though I was asking for a more expensive option, in fact I was asking for the cheaper option.
We have been before for a coffee but never for dinner. Not a bad menu selection also a nice little selection of wine by the glass. We both had the Calamari and it was very nice.. Very enjoyable dinner with very friendly and helpful staff and cafe was very modern and clean... We will definitely come back for dinner...
Had great coffee here as had been had at a few different Coffee Clubs visited. Service was fine and staff friendly. What made this outlet different was the bigger than average size of the restaurant plus there was traffic noise, as we sat outside, which was a bit unnerving.
