Update Aug 2020:<br/ Came for lunch to try their sushi and their chirashi! Very generous pieces and great quality of sashimi. Highly recommended !! <br/ <br/ <br/ <br/ <br/ Came on a Saturday night and the place was 3/4 full. The restaurant is a little bit hidden under the story bridge but wow was the sushi and sashimi fresh. Sashimi was nice cut with decent thick portions. The fish was fresh and tasted authentic. The hotate (my personal fav) was sweet to taste. The only complaint is the rice on the nigiris was falling apart everytime you pick up the nigiri. Other than that, one of the better sushi places I’ve tasted in brisbane. Nice little local hidden gem! Will be back to try their lunch chirashi!
Always on the hunt for good Japanese food around Brisbane, I had recently heard great things about Mitoki in Kangaroo Point. Frankly I had known of its existence for some time now, however I thought it was difficult to get to, so never ventured out there. Turns out that it was only a 5 minute ferry ride away from work, and I managed to get there faster than a stroll out to Fortitude Valley.
We had a fantastic dinner here last night. It is Japanese tapas so order as you go via an iPad. Most of the food was quick to arrive. The sushi took longer. The Renkon chips are lotus chips but cut thicker than any I’ve had elsewhere and we’re quite heavy. The eel was the highlight for me tender and delicious. My only criticism is that there are no vegetable dishes. There is vegetable tempura which of course is deep fried. A vegetable stir fry dish and maybe some miso eggplant would be great additions to the menu.
Lovely restaurant to have lunch with some good friends, really enjoyed the food. The price is quite expensive but food is <br/ <br/ I would definitely come here again for another visit for dinner.
