California Tortilla - Bowie

I was visiting from Texas and the Tex Mex is not the same. I ordered quesadillas and they weren’t the way I am use of.

The food is absolutely wonderful, the staff were kind but not overly attentive, and the atmosphere seemed a little stale. It may very well be that I had gone on a Tuesday afternoon and they weren't very busy, but that's my take :

I have always thought the Bowie restaurant does a great job. Lately I think they have been slacking. Ordered a BBQ Chicken Quesadilla and that was not what I was given. The cook claims what we were given was a BBQ Chicken Quesadilla and claims the sticker on the box indicated that’s what it was. That’s not what I bit into. The BBQ Chicken Quesadilla has actual BBQ sauce. What I got was a plain old chicken quesadilla. If I wanted the plain chicken, that’s what I would have ordered. How are you going to claim it’s a “special” item when the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla is on the actual menu? Highly disappointed and was left hungry.

Haven't been to CalTort in a while...it was a fav years ago. Still same good food.

This location has turned around nicely. It used to be pretty run down looking, but it's now a nice location to sit and eat. I knocked off a star because the burritos are mostly rice, for the price I always expect more veggies and meat. But the kids like it so I keep going back. Kids meals are a good price.
