One of them told us about a great beach in the Island called Cape Roger Curtis, and we were able to watch whales from there!!! It was the best part of the trip! And, believe me, you gotta try their carrot cakes!
I had the tomato basil veg soup here. It was truly amazing. So flavourful, and I don't like tomato soup. I was craving soup so went with it. I am so glad I did. Great job!
If you want car-breakfast for the ferry, then it helps to time your arrival in Snug Cove so that you will be parked close to a good cafe.......this morning I was right on time but good cafe was closed. I walked back to the Ruddy and am now having a latte and almond croissant. The coffee is a little bitter think Cafe Artigiano , so not a major criticism.... but the croissant is one of the fluffiest, lightest almond croissants I have had. It is delicious. That’s why it is worth waiting until they open.....not until 9am so unfortunately not an option for the earlier ferries!
At the Ruddy Kitchen, you'll spot mothers and toddlers, construction workers, and golfers enjoying delicious paninis and sandwiches in a casual setting. It's a great spot for a picnic at the beaches on the west side. The friendly counter staff quickly serves up your food, which you can enjoy at the covered picnic tables outside (heated in the winter). The service is fast and friendly, and the food is simply good.
Stopped in here to relax with a great coffee and yummy treats. You can pick up some groceries as well.
