Umai - Boston

This restaurant is a must-visit for my sisters and me whenever we come to Boston (we're from NYC). The sushi here is incredibly fresh, and the Baked Alaska Tuna Maki is simply out of this world—it's so buttery and melts in your mouth. I always order that, along with the Butterfly Maki and try something new each visit; this year I had the Prudential roll, which was fantastic. We've come here every year for the past eight years, and the quality remains just as we remember. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they've made some interior renovations in the last eight years that have created a cozy atmosphere. I find myself craving their sushi when I'm back home in New York, as I haven't encountered this level of quality for such a great price. I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic sushi! This charming little spot is ideal for a casual yet delightful dinner. There are so many options to choose from, and everything we ordered was excellent and reasonably priced! We will definitely be back.

The food was excellent! While the atmosphere could better reflect Japanese culture, the dishes were delicious and reasonably priced.

I'm sorry to say that this sushi roll (see picture) is the worst sushi I've ever had. The main issue is that the rice wasn’t cooked properly. It turned out wet and mushy, lacking both flavor and texture! It’s hard to believe they can run a sushi restaurant without knowing how to prepare sushi rice correctly.

The restaurant was clean, and the waitress was friendly. However, the food could have more flavor.
