Ostra - Boston

Excellent service, great eating, had a nice evening in ostra. my wife and I went to our jubilee dinner and we had a wonderful time here. the ambiente was great, noise levels were probably very low as it was a Sunday night. our friendly host and server were polite and friendly. the food was great, we had the exotic mushroom risotto as an appetizer, and the grilled faroe island lachs (good made) for pornstars. they were cleaned. the warm chocolate torte for desserts. After eating a few of our friends went in, so we went to the bar with them. the bartender was also great, beautiful drinks and service.

The octopus app, grilled Bronzini is fabulous. And, Chris our server is excellent he doesn't miss a beat. He was on top of everything! Simply on of the best seafood dinners, ever.

The most beautiful setting, impeccable service and menu options to die for. Hands down best dining experience I have ever had on my visit from Connecticut

5 stars for the exceptional service. But our table was pretty small and clumsy even for two people which disappointed us a bit given we went there to celebrate a special occasion. The food was mostly good but I was underwhelmed after having heard the rave reviews. The grilled octopus we ordered to share was good but I have had better. The dressing of olive oil and fennel was too salty for me. The same problem persisted with the salt crusted branzino we ordered. It's a pretty phenomenal looking dish, the fish was fresh but I think the dish is more of showstopper to watch than to eat. It had similar problem with excessive salt. But I loved the vegetables as an accompaniment with it. The next was the paella which was also had a good quantity of seafood, tasted good but I have had better paella. Ordered the snow egg for desert and it was a nice palate cleanser. I think ostra is more about the feel than the food, where food is great in parts but not extraordinary. The service is excellent but the tables are way too cramped. I think I will be back but only for a special occasion.
