After our early afternoon at the Museum, my sister and I grabbed some lunch in the cafè so that we wouldn't have to leave. We shared the Black Angus Burger and it was ok. The burger was a tad dry and didn't have too much flavor. The potato chips were delicious though, freshly made and crispy. Our server was really nice and courteous. The restaurant was ultimately just convenient so that we could pick up and continue exploring the museum. Our meal wasn't the best, but it was still sufficient and pleasing.
Went to MFA today (August 14, 2021) with my adult grandson to view Monet then for lunch at the MFA New American Cafe. An excellent experience. Great service, delicious food and the dessert brownie with ice cream was the best I have ever had! It is pricey but worth it. Had green garden salad, broccoli, chicken wrap, chicken quesadilla. I would go back just to have the wonderful dessert again! We loved all the food.
I was there a few weeks ago, after they had just reopened. Ordered a salad that was supposed to have kale, watermelon and feta. I asked to have the kale replaced by arugula. I got a tiny salad with 4 small pieces of watermelon, a few leaves of arugula and basically no feta. I asked for bread and I was told they did not have any! The salad came with no dressing and I had to beg for that too. And the prices are ridiculous! Talk about a captive audience!
With COVID, we members decided to stay at the Museum for lunch. They had grab and go sandwiches and we were sure they would be pretty good. WRONG. Tasteless, cold sandwiches for $8.00 each. We waited in a long line with one employee trying to work as a cashier. There were two choices... a vegan wrap and a Calabrese sandwich. Both were tasteless. I have had catered sandwiches before that are very good so I was so disappointed that the MFA would treat members who are pretty much without other options to eat these. By 2 p.m., there were no sandwiches left. Funny because people had to reserve tickets for the Monet exhibit so they knew how many visitors the MFA would have. Not buying a membership again. j
