The menu isn't huge and consists mainly of basic Vietnamese dishes but the flavours and authenticity of the food is amazing. It actually rates as our favourite meal while in Bordeaux. There are only 4 tables on ground level but additional downstairs if required. Drinks on offer are beer or wine depending what she has in the fridge. Great value prices too. Highly recommended.
Where my girlfriend and I live, in Italy, there's no chance to find a Vietnamese restaurant. So, once in Bordeaux, our decision where to eat was easily taken! We decided to trust "Que toi" (which translated means "my motherland") and to go there for dinner. And trust me, our decision could never have been wiser!!! To begin with, the owner named Vinh welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel like at home. So thumbs up for the hosting and service! The presentation of the dishes was outstanding, and therefore it deserves our maximum vote. As far as the taste is concerned, the food eaten ( one portion of "Bun Tom", one of nems-Vietnamese springrolls, and one of "Bun bo") was outstandingly delicious. I am Vietnamese, and believe me if I write that everything here is top class: it is very hard to find a Vietnamese chef so passionate and expert in cooking! Que toi is just worth of a visit. You won't be disappointed!
Small Vietnamese restaurant that packs a punch with great food! Friendly staff/cooks were attentive and happy to serve us. My wife and I had Bo Bun which came with nems and was so tasty and fresh. The pho spring rolls were huge and delicious!
My husband and I were walking past Que Toi and were instantly drawn in by the smell of food cooking, which was quite wonderful. We didn't know anything about the restaurant beforehand and hadn't planned on having Vietnamese, but once we were inside, we had to have some of it!Put simply, the food is stunning. It was delicious, fresh and cooked to order. The pork nems were so good, we had two portions and I really wanted another portion of the pho spring roll, but I think they had already sold out (which isn't unsurprising, because it was wonderful). All the while, they were clearly operating a really busy takeaway, which I think is testament to how in demand they are. For main, we had jasmine rice with chicken, which again was delicious. I honestly cannot fault any aspect of this place. The only sad thing is that I live in Glasgow, and it's a bit far to visit regularly! :)The gentleman who was serving was a really pleasant guy who was very helpful and attentive. We were even given a sample of their Fresha, which was a combintation of green tea and fruit juice, which was also really tasty. All in all, it was a really wonderful meal which was entirely by chance. I would recommend this place to anyone, it's a wonderful place for dinner if you want something that is light, fresh and very tasty.
I saw the signbord of this restaurant while I was walking in Bordeaux and as a lover of Asian cuisine and Vientamese in particular, I decided to stop there. There restaurant is small but very welcoming and clean and they also have a lower ground...floor if you want to eat the food there. The guys in the kitchen and at the cashier are all vietnamese and the food was great! I really enjoyed my meal there. The staff is also nice and polite. If you like asian food, stop there.
