We 've always wanted to shred around Vermont, so we came, we done it and now I 'm telling you all about it. The gondola goes all the way to the summit, so we started with that right off the bat. The top of the mountain is very windy, so we couldn 't really do it for the gram. The slopes were nicely groomed. The lifts were very well maintained. Scenic views all around once the weather clears up a little. The staff is super attentive as well. Constantly reminding these Other People to keep their masks up while on line for a lift or inside the enclosed spaces. If you don 't like it,, please stay home. The staff didn 't wake up today to ruin your day just because you wanna give yourself a hard time. You refuse to wear a mask, they refuse to keep you there. It 's that simple. Now go drive your giant pick up truck and take your real tree apparel with you. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. Specially the fact that they strictly adhere to CDC guidelines and resort mask policy. I felt at peace that belligerent More American than I people get put to their place. Where people who just want to Follow the Rules can be at ease that the resort has their backs. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!
Poor experience this past weekend. Would not recommend to anyone looking to enjoy themselves and/or a good value. Here are the low lights of the trip: 1. EXPENSIVE Tickets for weekend skiing 189$ (200$ with taxes/fees) 2. WAITING IN LINE 20 minutes TO PICKUP PRE PAID TICKET 3. ANCIENT LIFTS AND FACILITIES For 200$, I'd expect newish lifts and facilities... or at least in much better shape... 4. DISORGANIZED LIFT LINES Incredibly disorganized and SLOW! Ultra slow. 5. RUDE SKI PATROL Poor attitudes. Totally aggressive. 6. PACKED (PROBABLY OVERSOLD TIX) LONG LINES for EVERYTHING: lifts, restaurants, bars, cafeterias, ticket counters 7. NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO SIT AT BAR OR TABLE FOR FOOD 8. POOR CONDITIONS Ice covering the mountain with seemingly a half inch of actual man made powder. Few trails that prob should've been been closed to begin with. Maybe this place would be better during the weekday in terms of the lines and crowds, but everything else needs a lot of work before I'd spend time and money at this place....
Stratton village has a cute little vibe, dog friendly. Well maintained trails, lots of natural snow on the sun bowl side. Parking staff is efficient and chill, very kind. Mountain itself has nice runs. One of the best IMO in the southern mountains. Camping in the area in a rig there are a lot of options and not too bad to drive to on a powder day the next morning!
I'm happy to share my thoughts on Stratton Mountain Ski Resort in Vermont. From my research, I found that Stratton Mountain boasts an impressive 670 acres of skiable terrain and a vertical drop of 2,003 feet. With over 90 trails and plenty of off-piste options, there is something for everyone at Stratton. I recently visited Stratton after a 15-year hiatus and was blown away by the amount of expansion that has taken place since my last visit. The resort has added several new lifts and trails, making it a great destination for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort also features a charming base village with plenty of dining and shopping options. One thing to note is that the crowds can vary depending on the day of the week. During the week, it's relatively quiet, but lines can get quite long on weekends. However, the resort does a good job of managing the crowds and keeping things moving efficiently. My girlfriend had her first two days of ski lessons at Stratton, and she couldn't stop raving about how much she enjoyed them. The teachers were knowledgeable, patient, and created a fun and supportive learning environment. The group lessons were perfect for beginners like her, and she felt comfortable and confident on the slopes by the end of her second day. While the snow was a bit lacking during my visit, the resort's grooming team did an excellent job of making the most of what they had. The snowmaking system at Stratton is also top-notch, with over 1,200 snow guns on site. This ensures that the resort is always able to provide quality snow conditions for its guests. Overall, I had a fantastic time at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort and can't wait to come back. It's a great option for anyone looking for a fun and varied skiing experience in Vermont.
This weekend was my first time visiting Stratton resort. I was there on Saturday January 27, 2024. We drove up from New Jersey to go snow tubing at Coca Cola tube park. I purchased 2 tickets for tubing from the customer service desk at the base of Stratton's Sun Bowl at 1:30pm on Saturday 1/27/2024. I was told when I purchased them that my tickets were for the 2pm time slot that same day. I was not given the tickets at the window. Instead I was instructed to walk over to the Tube park and get my tickets from the window counter. I arrived at the tube park at 1:45pm , fifteen minutes early for checking in. To my surprise, they could not find any record of my tubing purchase for 2pm. I waited patiently while he searched the computer. I provide proof of purchase receipt of the two tickets. And he had called the base desk at sun Bowl and spoke with the lady who had sold me my 2 tickets. He confirmed that she sold me 2 tickets. And went back in the system and found my information was incorrect. He told me that instead of tubing , I was sold climbing tickets?? And when I asked how we could resolve this issue, which was NO fault of my own, since I purchased these tickets from your ticket counter at Sun Bowl and I specifically asked for tubing tickets. Your employee who was working the ticket counter sold me the incorrect tickets. After 30 minutes of us patiently waiting to go tubing, he finally called a manager to resolve the issue. I was then told that the manager asked us to repurchase new tickets for tubing and afterwards that I should go back to the ticket desk at the Sun Bowl and request a refund for the previous tickets purchased.. How does that benefit the customer? That is an inconvenience to the customer. And no apologies or attempts to fix this mistake were made. This was handled very unprofessionally! And for that I am disappointed and writing this letter. I told both employees that I would be reporting this incident and that I would like a full refund of both tickets purchased and that I will NOT be visiting your resort ever again in the future. I was told it was an honest mistake, but then how come it took 30 minutes for a manager to be called, before I was told to purchase new tickets. By that time it was already past my 2:00pm time slot.
